서론으로 이런 저런 이야기를 늘어 놓는 것은 아마, 그저 내가 채워야 할 글 쓰기의 분량을 채우기 위한 것이 아닐까 하는 마음에, 이제부터 이런 공부에 관련된 연재물에 대해선 서론을 굳이 채우지 않도록 하겠습니다. 본 포스팅이 어떤 포털사이트에 노출이 되고, 그로 인해 방문자가 늘어나 수익이 증대될 지는 모르겠으나, 그보다는 그저 공부한 것을 하나 하나 정리해두어 나에게도 남에게도 조금이나마 도움이 되길 바라는 그런 마음에 작성합니다. 금일 이후로 자격증 공부 관련 포스팅 연재물에는 이와 같은 서론은 붙지 않습니다. 

API510은 Pressure Bessel Inspection Code로, In-serviece Inspection, Rating , Repair, Alternation에 관해 다룹니다. 1장은 이 API510이 적용 가능한 Scope에 대해 다룹니다. 시험에 나올 만한 주요 구문을 적고, 내용의 해석과 첨언을 하는 정도로 진행하도록 하겠습니다.

1.1.1 Coverage

This inspection code covers the in-service Inspection, repair, alternation, and rerating activities for pressure vessels and the pressure-relieving devices protecting these vessels. This inspection code applies to all hydrocarbon and chemical process vessels that have been placed in service unless specifically excluded per 1.2.2; but it could also be applied to process vessels in other industries at owner/user discrition. 

API510코드는 가동중인 설비/장비/플랜트 등의 현장에서 사용되는 압력용기 와 이에 사용되는(보호하는 역할의) 감압장치(pressure-relieving devices)의 검사, 수리, alternation과 relating 활동을 다룬다. 이 검사코드(API510)은 1.2.2 항목에 따라 제외되는 것들을 뻬곤 모든 hydrocarbon과 화학 용기에 적용되지만, Owner/User의 재량에 따라 다른 공종에도 적용이 가능하다. 

 

If in-service vessels are covered by requirements in the construction code and API  or if there is a conflict betwwen the two codes, the requirements of API  shall take precedence. As an example of the intent of API 510, the phrase "applicable requirements of the construction code" has been used in API 510 instead of the phrase "in accordance with the construction code"

서비스 중인 용기가 시공 코드 및 API 요건으로 적용되거나 두 코드에 충돌이 있을 경우 API 요건을 우선한다. API 510의 취지의 예로서, API 510에서는 "구성 코드에 따라"라는 문구 대신 "구성 코드의 적용 가능한 요구사항"이라는 문구가 사용되었다.

 

1.2.2 Intent

The application of this inspection code is restricted to owner/users that employ or have access to the following technically qualified individuals and organizations :

a) an authorized inspection agency

b) a repair organization

c) an engineer

d) an inspector, and,

e) examiners

Inspectors are to be certified as stated in this inspection code(see Annex B).

이 검사 코드의 적용은 다음의 자격을 갖춘 개인 및 기관을 고용하거나 액세스 할 수 있는 소유자/사용자로 제한한다. 즉, Owner/Users만 이 코드를 적용할 것인지 결정할 수 있다는 이야기이죠.다음의 자격은 아래와 같습니다. 또한 검사자는 이 검사 코드에 명시된 대로 인증을 받아야 합니다.(Annex B 참조)

a) 공인된 검사기관

b) 수리기관, 조직, 팀

c) 엔지니어(한국어로 기술자와는 조금 차이가 있습니다. 굳이 이야기하자면, 반도체 현장에서 발주처에서 외주를 맡긴 설계 혹은 발주처의 설계 정도 되겠네요.)

d) 검사관

e) 시험관(examiner는 일반적인 inspector와는 달리, 주로 NDT(NDE)를 시행합니다.)

 

1.2.2 Excluded and Optional Services

Vessels excluded from the specific requirements of this inspection code are listed in Annex A. However, each owner/user has the option of including any excluded pressure vessel in thier inspection program as outlined in this code.

1.2.2 제외 및 선택 서비스

이 검사 코드의 특정 요건에서 제외된 용기는 부속서 A에 열거되어 있다. 그러나 각 소유자/사용자는 이 코드에 설명된 대로 검사 프로그램에 제외된 압력 용기를 포함시킬 수 있습니다.
